Monroe Community Ambulance is proud to recognize Carrie Boulton as a 2026 Star of Life. Carrie has been serving her patients and the community almost since the inception of MCA itself, joining the team in 2006. She currently holds the position of Paramedic Team Leader, serving in a dual role that showcases her excellence, clinical proficiency, and leadership skills. Even in comparison to the hallmark versatility of first responders, Carrie wears many hats in her role and does so with a high degree of professionalism and skill. On any given day, you may find her in the field treating patients, acting as a training officer for new employees, sharing her expertise at an emergency drill, or supporting MCA supervision with an expansive variety of operational tasks.

Perhaps her greatest strength is that she also fosters a deep personal commitment to the people behind the uniform. Carrie is the first phone call for many of her colleagues when needing to talk after a difficult call or when facing other mental health challenges. She holds numerous advanced certifications in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and peer-to-peer support and is an active team member of the Monroe County CISM Team. The combination of her training and her willingness to listen to and help others with compassion and empathy makes her an invaluable asset not only to our organization but also to all our first-responder colleagues in Monroe County.

Carrie’s distinguished service personifies the title “Star of Life.” Her status as a clinician, colleague, a safe source of support, and a friend to many is a vital part of the fabric of MCA. She is wholly deserving of this award, and MCA is profoundly fortunate to count her as part of its team.
