Glen McCormick has spent 45 years dedicated to EMS, both as a provider and, over the past 15 years, as a Paramedic Instructor/Coordinator at the HVA Center for EMS Education. During Glen’s time as a paramedic and firefighter, he gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that made him well-equipped to teach our EMT classes and train future EMS providers. 

Glen is known for his positive attitude, good mood, and ability to go with the flow in changing circumstances – a skill surely developed during his years in the field. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond make him well-liked and respected by his peers and students. In the classroom, Glen’s passion for quality patient care and best practices is evident. He can often be found telling stories about his years of patient care, relating past protocols to developments in today’s patient care and improved outcomes.

Outside of work, Glen enjoys camping with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife. Glen will be retiring from Emergent Health later this year and is excited to spend time RV’ing around the country with his family. He will be missed by his coworkers in Education, and by Emergent Health as a whole.

​Glen, you have left an indelible mark on Emergent Health Partners and your community. It is said that an EMT helps one person at a time, but an EMT Instructor helps hundreds of people at a time. The education you have provided to hundreds of EMTs, many of whom went on to become paramedics, nurses, and physicians, has directly shaped healthcare in our community and will continue to do so well into the future. Thank you, Glen, for your many years of service and for being part of the Emergent Health Team. You are a true example of how dedicated professionals continue to grow and develop, and we are proud to recognize you as a Star of Life!
