Liz Callahan began serving as an EMT with Jackson Community Ambulance in 2022, joining us after a career in the performing arts as a professional musician and music educator. After earning her EMT license, Liz began Paramedic school, earning her license and being promoted to Paramedic in 2023. Most recently, Liz was promoted to Senior Paramedic, where she uses her skills to guide and mentor newer and less experienced coworkers.

Liz is known for her patience, kindness, and empathy. She loves being a paramedic because it gives her the opportunity to meet and care for people from all different walks of life. Her patient care is top-notch, and she treats every patient with dignity and respect. Liz loves the challenge of helping people experiencing an emergency and excels at offering them compassion when it’s needed the most. An avid learner, Liz shows great interest in following up on patient outcomes and always strives to learn something from challenging patient encounters.

As a coworker, Liz is well-liked and respected by her peers, who say that working with her is a welcome experience. She loves building camaraderie with other first responders and works diligently to foster good working relationships with her coworkers, students, and community partners. Liz is known as someone who is friendly, honest, and accountable, and who always greets others with a friendly smile.

When off duty, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter, and cuddling with her pet kittens. She loves playing tennis and can be found on the courts nearly every day. Liz and her family share a love of all things outdoors, and enjoying music next to a campfire is her perfect evening.
